A Race to the End
Yesterday, as the last week trip for the boys, we all went to the local karting track to compete. A fantastic day was had by all. The winning team was led by Ashley – well done! However, fastest lap was by myself, so I believe that’s a win over all the lads in bowling earlier in the year, and the fastest driver too!!!!!
The Presentation Evening
Thursday night, with one day to go, saw the presentation evening at the Arena and the Reebok stadium. All the lads and host families were in attendance to see them all receive packs including pictures, certificates and the qualifications they have gained. It is with tremendous pleasure and pride in the lads that I can announce we have had a 100% success rate. Full credit to all the lads: every one of them has achieved the BTEC qualification, the FA level one and the Refereeing qualification. Along with this we have seen a group of boys that have joined us throughout the year develop into mature and respectable young men and players. Well done to you all.
The three big winners of the night were:-

Most Improved Player – Dimitri Polidano.
A totally deserved award for Dimitri. He started the course as the youngest student, and has overcome many hurdles and issues at the start of the course. Worked hard with all the staff and the lads and has developed fantastically on and off the pitch.

Players’ Players of the Year – Takanori Matsouka
Probably one of the best awards to receive, showing how much your teammates think of you, and this vote was absolutely unanimous without a doubt. Taka is a true professional and a fantastically committed player.

Player of the Year – Jared Stone
This award, given by the coaches and staff of the course, again totally deserved for his commitment, drive and ability on the pitch. Given that Jared joined us from January, he has done brilliant to make such an impression.
The Final Word
Good luck lads tonight. It’s been a fantastic year and it’s been a pleasure to have you all here in Bolton and you’ll be missed by everyone.
A big thank you to all the parents that have supported your sons and us whilst they have been with us.
